Turkey neutralizes 331 PKK terrorists

A Turkish soldier was killed and five others wounded in a PKK attack in Turkey’s southeastern province of Hakkari, military sources said on Saturday.

A group of PKK terrorists attacked a Turkish army base in the Cukurca district of Hakkari, said the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking with the media.

An air-supported operation was launched in the area to apprehend the terrorists.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and the EU and resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Terrorists neutralized

Hundreds of PKK terrorists were killed across the southeas, where 600 cartons of smuggled cigarettes were confiscated and a PKK terrorist gave himself in to security forces according to military headquarters.

The military has also confiscated illegal cigarettes with 60 cartons of smuggled cigarette discovered in a single operation. In addition, an armed accomplice linked to PKK, surrendered to the security forces in the battled town of Şemdinli where 53 terrorists have so far been slain during the ongoing sweeping.
