The museum will display almost 43,000 artifacts dating to 19th century and exhibit the life style and daily life in palaces.

Turkey to open palace collection museum in Istanbul

Turkey's parliament speaker will inaugurate a palace collection museum in Istanbul on Friday.

Mehmet Ali Sahin will open Palace Collections Museum, under the auspices of Parliament's National Palaces Directorate, in Besiktas, Istanbul.

The museum will display almost 43,000 artifacts dating to 19th century and exhibit the life style and daily life in palaces.

Artifacts are collected from Dolmabahce, Beylerbeyi and Yildiz palaces as well as Aynalikavak, Kucuksu, Ihlamur and Maslak mansions.

The artifacts will shed light to the reigns of Ottoman Sultan Abdulmecid, Sultan Abdulaziz, Sultan Murad V, Sultan Abdulhamid II, Sultan Mehmed Resad V, Sultan Mehmed Vahiduddin.

The museum can be visited everyday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on Mondays and Thursdays.
