Turkey to promote cities for tourism

Turkey's Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay said on Wednesday that they wanted to see affluent people feel something missing in their lives if they did not visit Turkey in the next 10 years.

This is the Turkey that we dream of, Gunay stressed at a conference on Turkey's cooperation with the EU in tourism held at the European Parliament Wednesday.

We try to make use of academic knowledge and global experiences in tourism. We invite investors in tourism with the condition that they protect history, nature and quality, Gunay said.

Turkey needs cities with trade marks. Instead of promoting Turkey as a whole, we now pay attention to promoting individual regions of Turkey, Gunay noted.

We want to promote Turkey so much that if individuals did not visit cities as Istanbul, Konya, Antalya or Gaziantep, they would feel something missing in their lives, Gunay also said.
