Turkey's borders are protected by 51,107 soldiers, according to a written statement published on the website of the General Staff on Monday.
According to the statement, Turkey's borders are protected by 317 posts of border police. The General Staff stated that Turkey's land borders were 2,949 kilometres long and sea borders were 8,333 kilometers long.
Turkey has become increasingly concerned about the fallout of the Syrian civil war and has moved to tighten security along the frontier.
