Turkey's national flag carrier, the Turkish Airlines (THY), has signed a protocol with the Vocational Qualifications Authority to set vocational standards for civil aviation.
The protocol was signed by THY CEO Temel Kotil and Vocational Qualifications Authority Director-General Bayram Akbas.
Kotil said at the signing ceremony, "there are around 92 thousand employees in the civil aviation sector. THY's turnover reached 6 billion USD. With the other airliners, annual turnover of the civil aviation sector is about 10 billion USD."
Akbas, on his part, said, "the civil aviation sector has its own rules. After setting the qualifications, we will cooperate with the THY in preparation of the standards for civil-aviation-related vocations."
