Turkish army has said it returned fire from gunmen on the Syrian side of the border in Mardin province.

Turkish General Staff said in a statement on Friday that unidentified gunmen fired 15-20 rounds of live ammunition at Turkish units patrolling Demirkurt Border Post in Nusaybin district of Mardin. It added that Turkish army units returned fire, silencing the assailants.
