Turkish indictment charges 30 with cheating

The Ankara Prosecutor's Office has prepared an indictment for 30 individuals as part of a probe into allegations of cheating on the Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES), the Language Proficiency Exam for Turkish Academicians (ÜDS) and the Foreign Language Exam for State Personnel (KPDS).

The indictment, which was drawn up by prosecutor Mehmet Cihan Kısa, who is responsible for the bureau investigating crimes committed by civil servants, demanded that 30 individuals be charged with “giving and receiving a bribe,” “establishing an organization with an aim to commit crimes,” “membership in an organization established to commit crimes” and “misconduct in office.”

If the indictment, which was presented to the Ankara 7th High Criminal Court, is accepted, the trial of the accused is expected to start in the near future.
