Turkey’s National Security Council reviewed the structure of security measures for the upcoming local elections on Wednesday.
"The structures and activities threatening the national security of Turkey have been discussed and the security measures for the upcoming local elections have been reviewed," said the statement.
The first National Security Council Meeting of 2014 was chaired by Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul on Wednesday.
The Council discussed Syria’s civil war and the conditions of the refugees in Turkey, besides the developing relations with Iran and the bombing events in Iraq.
