Turkish security forces seized a total of 41 kg of heroin in an operation conducted in the eastern province of Agri on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-smuggling teams stopped a bus travelling from the eastern province of Van to Istanbul.
Security forces founded the illicit drug hidden under the seats and inside the ceiling of the vehicle. The driver of the bus was detained.
During separate operations, security forces confiscated 40 kilograms of hashish and 12 kilograms of heroin in south-eastern provinces of Diyarbakir and Hakkari, north-western province of Edirne and eastern provinces of Van and Erzurum on Friday.
11 people were detained in connection with the illicit drugs.
