Turkey won a total of seven medals and became the champion as a team in the European Union Women's Boxing Championships in Hungary on Sunday.
Turkey earned 24 points by winning three gold, one silver and three bronze medals and became the champion, while Hungary ranked the second with 23 points, and France the third with 13 points.
Turkish female boxers Serpil Yassikaya, Ayse Tas and Gulsum Tatar won gold medals in 46 kg, 54 kg and 64 kg respectively. Sumeyra Yazici won silver medal in 51 kg, while Binnur Sakal, Elif Guneri and Semsi Yarali won bronze medals in 48 kg, 75 kg and +81 kg respectively.
A total of 130 female boxers from the EU countries as well as Turkey, Switzerland, Croatia and Norway competed in the championships.
