Security forces killed two PKK militants in rural areas of Ovacik town of southeastern province of Tunceli on Wednesday.

Patrolling security forces came across a group of militants in Ovacik town and called them to surrender.

Two militants, one of them woman, were killed in an ensuing clash.

Security operations are underway in the region.

Separately, two militants who escaped from the PKK camps in north of Iraq surrendered to security forces. The militants were released after being interrogated.

Number of militants dead in armed clashes in the first five months of 2010 has reached 160. Number of militants who surrendered to security forces is 151, according to security authorities.
