People in the UK are worried after a great white shark not only successfully cross the Atlantinc but is also believed to be pregnant.
Spotters have been tracking the shark via satellite since it crossed the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, and it is now believed to be heading towards the UK.
Expedition leader and founding chairman of the Ocearch shark tagging venture, Chris Fischer, told the BBC he thought the shark was pregnant and looking for a place to give birth.
While most would argue that the British isles are too cold for the shark, Fischer insisted that there had been sightings of great whites in the region in the past, adding, "these sharks have the capacity to deal with very cold water temperatures for long periods."
However, at the same time he said the shark was more likely to head to the Mediterranean or even turn back to Florida.Last Mod: 11 Mart 2014, 16:42
