At least 11 Iraqis, including five policemen, were killed and 10 others injured Sunday in a car bombing in the northern city of Mosul, a security official said.
"A booby-trapped car went off as a joint army-police patrol was driving through Al-Zahraa district in eastern Mosul," Colonel Ghaleb al-Taei told Anadolu Agency.
He said the blast killed 11 people, including five policemen, and injured 11 others, including two policemen.
Mosul, the capital of the northern province of Nineveh, has been shaken by attacks in recent months.
Iraq in general has seen a spike in violence recently, with recurrent bombings and assassinations killing hundreds of people.
