A total of 26 Iraqis have been executed for involvement in carrying out "terrorist acts", Justice Minister Hassan al-Shammari said on Tuesday.
"All the convicts are Iraqis," the minister said in a statement.
Last year, 151 people were executed in Iraq over charges of terrorism under a 2005 anti-terror law.
Authorities in Iraq, which continues to see multi-layered clashes between warring religious factions, tribes and militant groups in post-Saddam Hussein years, insist on exercising the death penalty on grounds that the country is facing "extraordinary circumstances."Güncelleme Tarihi: 22 Ocak 2014, 09:52
