The delegation representing Irbil administration and mediators from central government gathered at the Iraq Presidency in Baghdad on Thursday.

The delegation representing the Irbil administration and negotiators from the central government gathered at the Iraq Presidency within scope of Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi's attempt to end the tension between the central government and the regional administration in north of Iraq.

Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi, one of the Shiite chiefs Ahmad Chalabi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoshyar Mahmud Zebari, Barham Salih from the northern Iraqi delegation, Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) Politburo Secretary Fadil Mirani and other northern Iraqi authorities were present at the meeting.

The host of the meeting, Talabani, stated that everyone should have the conscience of ending the crisis and should act within the legal principles and in line with the allies between political sides.

Regional administration leader Massoud Barzani accepting Nujaifi's offer of replacing the Iraqi army and Peshmarga with local police forces on controversial grounds and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's response were discussed in the meeting.

Maliki stated that they were awaiting response from the regional government regarding controversial grounds.
