At least 42 people were killed and 87 were injured in two seperate bombings in Iraq's eastern Diyala province on Monday, Iraqi medical and security sources told Anadolu Agency.
In the first incident, a car bomb exploded in a busy marketplace, killing 35 people and injuring 72.
Meanwhile, in Kanaan district, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a residential area, killing seven and injuring 15 others.
Last month, a car bomb attack at a popular market south of Baquba killed more than 100 people and injured 140 others.
Daily bombings have become a familiar phenomenon in Iraq's large provinces, often targeting civilians.
