"With the support of…Anbar's tribesmen and local police, the Armed Forces have conducted major operations last night and this morning killing over 50 from the ISIL terrorist group," said a statement by the Defense Ministry on Sunday.
According to the operation, the Iraqi Air Force also took part in the operation.
The Iraqi military also said during the operation, around 135 explosive devices were successfully defused and seven vehicles destroyed, some of which laden with weapons and explosives.
The Iraqi army announced last December it had embarked on a wide-scale operation to hunt down ISIL members in the province.
