Iraqi security forces detained on Friday a group of journalists who has gathered to follow the demonstrations in Baghdad's Tahrir Square.

A group of journalists wanted to go to Tahrir Square to follow the protests which are to be held for the improvement of security standards in the state, but were detained by Iraqi security officials, sources said. The journalists' cameras and video cameras were also confiscated.

The Iraqi army and police are said to have taken extensive measures in the area where protests are to be held.
