At least six people were killed and eight others were wounded in four separate attacks in Baghdad Wednesday, a security source said.

“Three people were killed and five others were wounded when an improvised explosive device exploded in Ta’mim neighborhood in southern Baghdad,” the source said.

Another IED was implanted under a civilian’s vehicle as he drove through Al-Amil neighborhood, according to the same source.

“Anonymous assailants broke into a grocery store and killed the owner and his son using sound-suppressor firearms,” the source, said.

Also, three security personnel were wounded in a drive-by shooting when three assailants shot them using sound-suppressor weapons.

Security in Iraq has deteriorated since June, when the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant stormed the northern province of Mosul and declared what it calls a caliphate in Iraq and Syria.
