“Three people were killed and five others were wounded when an improvised explosive device exploded in Ta’mim neighborhood in southern Baghdad,” the source said.
Another IED was implanted under a civilian’s vehicle as he drove through Al-Amil neighborhood, according to the same source.
“Anonymous assailants broke into a grocery store and killed the owner and his son using sound-suppressor firearms,” the source, said.
Also, three security personnel were wounded in a drive-by shooting when three assailants shot them using sound-suppressor weapons.
Security in Iraq has deteriorated since June, when the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant stormed the northern province of Mosul and declared what it calls a caliphate in Iraq and Syria.
