Iraqi Kurdistan's Turkmen population want to be represented by one Deputy PM and two ministers in the future Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
The KRG has failed to establish a coalition government. Turkmen representatives want to form a coalition with the KDP.
Iraqi Turkmen Front Deputy Aydun Maruf said in an interview with AA that the party wants to take part in the eighth cabinet of the KRG.
"We asked them to send two Turkmen deputies to the cabinet as ministers and one as a deputy PM to establish a ministry for Turkmen affairs. We expect a positive response from Barzani, because we are the second largest nationality here."
Speaking about the flow of Iraqi oil to the international market and Erbil-Baghdad relations, Maruf said the Iraqi Kurdistan Government signed an agreement with Turkey but the Maliki administration threatened the KRG that their funds would be cut if an agreement was signed without the approval of the central government.Güncelleme Tarihi: 17 Ocak 2014, 16:38
