A new smartphone application called The Imam App has been developed to make Islamic prayers for Muslims easier to perform, providing them simple instructions, a prayer time table and Qibla compass functions.
S. Matthias Mende, a German entrepreneur who converted to Islam in 2008, created the app with the help of Shaikh Mohammed bin Majid Al Maktoum and Abdul Khaliq in the United Arab Emirates.
"Basically, I felt it was a bit complicated to pray and remember everything, being a native German speaker,” Mende told Khaleej Times on Tuesday.
“I thought many people have the same complication on how to pray alone correctly, but are shy to speak and ask. With this app, (all they have to do is) press the start button and pray instantly and correctly," he added.
The app also includes a "PRAY TRAINER or "LEARN how to PRAY" feature in addition to a calander of upcoming Islamic events to help beginners learn how to pray and seek knowledge.
Mende is now working to raise $33,000 by August 26 to make an Android version available in the Apple store.Last Mod: 20 Ağustos 2014, 16:24
