Muslims in the US state of California have been praying for rain, as the west coast state facing a drought threatening agriculture.
Following in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who taught believers to recite a special supplication in times of drought, the Muslim residents of San Gabriel Valley gathered on Sunday to recite “Oh God, give us a saving rain, good and productive, general and heavy, now and not later, beneficial and not harmful.”
Farmers in Sacramento have particularly been hit hard by the drought, with severe water restrictions in place. Cattle farmers are also resorting to selling their cattle due to a lack of water. Wildfires have also broken out, a rare occurrence for winter.Güncelleme Tarihi: 20 Ocak 2014, 16:12
