The Congress of Kyrgyzstan's Muslims has elected Maksat Hajji Toktomushev as the grand mufti of the central Asian country.
Toktomushev, who had been serving as the country's acting grand mufti since early January, is due to officially take over the Kyrgyz Muslims Spiritual Directorate on March 4.
