The International Union for Muslim Scholars (IUMS) on Thursday offered its condolences to Turkey following Tuesday's mine explosion in western Turkey that killed 282 people.
"We pray to Allah to have mercy on the deceased, heal the wounded and bring the missing back to their families," the IUMS, which is led by prominent Egypt-born scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi, said in a statement.
At least 282 miners were killed in the blast in Turkey's western Manisa province.
Turkey has declared three days of national mourning – during which flags will be flown at half-mast and parliament will be closed – for victims of what is being described as one of the worst mining accidents in the country's history.Güncelleme Tarihi: 15 Mayıs 2014, 15:04
