Muslims in all mosques of the Serbian province Sanjak jointly prayed for the Turkish government and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan after the weekly Friday prayer.
In light of recent developments in Turkey, Sanjak citizens gathered to pray and offer their support to Erdogan in a congregation organized by the Islamic Community in Serbia (ICS).
Attempts of weakening Turkey have started by Gezi Park protests in May 2013 and culminated in the December 17 graft probe, said the ICS regarding the decision to organize joint prayer.
"That is why the Islamic Community decided to offer its support after the official weekly prayer and pray for Prime Minister Erdogan and in respect of the will of Turkish people," stated the ICS.
Muslims in Sanjak towns Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica prayed to God to "restore unity and mutual trust" in Turkey.
"O God, help and support our brother Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his associates," prayed Muslims in Serbia on Friday.
The joint prayer for Turkish PM and his government in Sanjak comes one week after a similar prayer in Bosnia and Herzegovina and another in Montenegro.Güncelleme Tarihi: 11 Ocak 2014, 09:23
