Colombia's army chief Genenal Leonardo Barrero and four other senior generals have been removed from their posts by the nation's Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon following allegations of corruption.
The former army chief will be replaced by General Juan Pablo Rodriguez, after Colombian news magazine Semana published an article claiming that the army had redirected public funds and pocketed money through illicit means.
The other four generals were fired "for failing to take adequate administrative action and scoring low marks during inspections".
President Juan Manuel Santos has ordered a full investigation into the allegations.Last Mod: 19 Şubat 2014, 13:43
