With academics, writers and journalists present, the meeting was published on the website of the World Bulletin. World Bulletin Research Panel have placed their mark on their round table meetings. Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Yel, researcher and writer Levent Basturk and journalist Saadet Oruc's meeting was moderated Aynur Erdogan.

Aynur Erdogan stated that Islamophobia is an extension of the Crusades. She said that: "Starting with the Crusades and continuing on from Orientalist discourse, we can see that this continues with Islamophobic thoughts today. We are aware that Europes failure to be able to live with others is the reason for this".

Levent Basturk highlighted the historical dimension of Islamophobia in his speech. Basturk explained that the concept of Islamophobia had gained ground but was rooted in events prior to 9/11, saying:
"A liberal-left think tank in the UK had organised reports about attacks on Muslim immigrants. The report didn't just focus on attacks but also disciminatory policies as well as suggesting solutions. That report also mentioned Islamophobia".

Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Yel said that this marginalisation particularly affected the Muslims living in Europe. Saying that Islamophobia was a purely political concept, Prof. Yel stated that:

"It actually is of little concern to us. Who is working towards Islamophobia? The political actors and their oppponents. Racists, and discrimination isn't only towards Muslims but to all people apart from themselves. But Muslims are the most affected".

Journalist Saadet Oruc evaluated the anti-immigration policies with the European perception of Islam. Oruc explained that the economic crisis in Europe fed the Islamophobia hysteria that is currently prevailing in Europe. Oruc continued:

"There is a social crisis as well as a Economic crisis in Europe. There is a growing anti-immigration resistance around the world. The Mediterannean is turning into a immigrant cemetary. Those leaving North Africa in boats are boats that are being sunk by human traffickers. There is a growing insensitivity in the world as well as a hardening of immigration policies".

Organised by DUBAM, the Round Table Meetings can be watched live, which are loaded on the site with the accompanying text. The meetings are held monthly with various topics and guest speakers.
