PREMIER TESTS ELECTRIC CAR
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan tested the first mass production electric car of Turkey, Renault Fluence Z.E. Erdogan said that the car was very silent, and was easy to drive.
TWO CLOSE NAMES TO BAYKAL ARE IN MYK
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu included Bihlun Tamayligil and Sena Kaleli in the new central executive board (MYK) during the first meeting of the party assembly which was shaped after the 15th extraordinary congress of the party. Tamayligil and Kaleli were close names to CHP's former chairman Baykal. Tamayligil became the secretary general of the party.
SHOWCASE CHANGES IN CHP
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu selected 17 central executive board members among 80-people party assembly which was set in the extraordinary congress of the party. Kilicdaroglu included two women members --who are close names to CHP's former leader Deniz Baykal-- in the board. Number two name of the party, Gursel Tekin, kept his seat, while Suheyl Batum, who was the secretary general of the party, was moved to election and law affairs.
HISTORICAL CLOCK TOWER COLLAPSING
"Etfal Clock Tower" which was built by Abdulhamit Han in 1907 in the garden of Sisli Etfal Hospital in Istanbul, was left to collapse. The project to restore the tower has been ready for 30 years, however, not a single nail was pounded.
"WE HAVE WILL, BUT ISRAEL DOES NOT"
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with columnists in Istanbul on Saturday. Replying to a question, Davutoglu said that they had intention to make peace with Israel. "We are in favor of peace with all countries. We have a sound will but the other party does not have it. Apology and compensation were needed for friendship, he said.
ERDOGAN EAGER TO HAVE AN ELECTRIC CAR
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan tested Turkey's first electric car on Saturday. Officials briefed Erdogan about Turkey's first mass production electric car Renault Fluence Z.E. at Prime Ministry residence. Erdogan said that environmental pollution would be removed with such cars. Erdogan also said if price was affordable, he would also buy one.
DAVUTOGLU: "WE HAVE INTENTION TO MAKE PEACE WITH ISRAEL"
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had a meeting with some columnists in Istanbul on Saturday. Asked whether Turkey had intention to make peace with Israel, Davutoglu said, "we have intention to make up with Israel. We are in favor of peace with all countries. Davutoglu said that he would not attend welcoming ceremony for Mavi Marmara ship, which was attacked by Israel in international waters.
HIGHEST TRAFFIC FINE 16,000 TL
Traffic fines will increase by averagely 7.7 percent in 2011. Those who make red light violations will pay 140 TL. Drunk driving fine will be 590 TL. Those who don't operate their vehicle inspection stations properly will have to pay a fine of 15,640 TL.
50 JOURNALISTS IN PRISON
Ercan Ipekci, Chairman of the Turkish Journalists Union, said that the number of press members, who were in prison, reached 50. Ipekci added that more than 100 journalists were also under the threat of imprisonment.
WE WON'T BE A FRONT COUNTRTY
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who explained foreign policy activities of the country in the past one year, said that Turkey would not be a front country of the security policies of the U.S. and NATO as it was in the past. He noted, "we are ready for peace in bilateral relations with Israel. A series of initiatives is being launched, however, Israel does not have a single will."

Turkey has forgotten more than 1000 people who disappeared in police custody. Saturday Mothers, relatives of those who have "disappeared" in police custody, held a sit-in protest for the 300th times in front of Galatasaray High School. Saturday Mothers want to know what happened to their relatives. They only want to put a flower on their graves.
KILICDAROGLU DETERMINES NEW MEMBERS OF CENTRAL EXECUTIVE BOARD
The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu determined new members of his party's central executive board. Bihlun Tamayligil became the new secretary general of the CHP. The number of members of the central executive board was increased by three people.
Hurriyet displayed the shelter in Ankara which was built to protect high-level state officials from nuclear, biologic and chemical weapons in case of a war. The shelter protects the whole state staff who will direct the war especially president, prime minister and chief of general staff. The shelter turns into a war management center with its technologic infrastructure during a national mobilization. It is somewhere near the center of Ankara and under the ground.
FIRST WOMAN SECRETARY GENERAL IN CHP
Main opposition Republican Poeple's Party (CHP) chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu appointed Bihlun Tamayligil as the secretary general in the new central executive board of the party. Tamayligil became the first woman secretary general of the party.
SATURDAY MOTHERS GATHER 300TH TIMES
Saturday Mothers, who have gathered every Saturday in front of Galatasaray High School in Istanbul for their relatives who have "disappeared" in police custody, held a sit-in protest for the 300th times yesterday. The group first gathered on May 27, 1995. Hrant Dink's wife Rakel also participated in the protest of the group yesterday. The group comprised of 150 people demand that they should meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
BDP: "TWO LANGUAGES ARE INDISPENSABLE FOR US"
When discussions over two languages have been continuing, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) co-chairman Selahattin Demirtas gave the message that they would not step back on the matter. "Two languages issue is indispensable for us. Everyone should know that," Demirtas said.

Bihlun Tamayligil got secretary general's seat in main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) which set the members of central executive board of the party. A woman is undertaking this post for the second time in the history of CHP. Meanwhile, Gursel Tekin became the deputy chairman of the party.
