CHAIRMAN CHANGES, DISCOURSE SAME IN CHP
Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who was the only candidate at CHP's convention, became the party's 7th chairman after Baykal. However, on contrary to what was expected from him, Kilicdaroglu's messages were not much different. Expressing support for Ergenekon, Kilicdaroglu said courts with special authority would be abolished. Noting he was against referendum, Kilicdaroglu commented on democratization with only one sentence. He also gave messages regarding economy instead of secularism.
PRIME MINISTER TO TOBB MEMBERS: EMPLOYMENT SHOULD BE INCREASED
Members of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), who had previously objected to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's proposal calling on "each of the 1.3 million TOBB members to employ one person", have changed their minds. During TOBB's 65th general assembly meeting, businessmen said they were ready to solve the unemployment problem. Delivering a speech at the gathering, Prime Minister Erdogan said employment would be increased in cooperation with the business world.
WHO WILL MANAGE KILICDAROGLU?
Onder Sav was the leading name at the general assembly meeting of Republican People's Party (CHP) during which Kemal Kilicdaroglu took over Deniz Baykal's post as chairman with 1,189 votes. Securing his "team" with a block list, Sav also had the legislative amendment limiting the authority of the chairman postponed and tried to tell the new leader that "he had the power".
OPPOSING NATIONAL SOVEREIGNITY MEANS FUNDAMENTALISM
Addressing the general assembly meeting of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "As Ataturk said, opposing national sovereignty is fundamentalism".
Erdogan also said that Turkey would not be able to reach higher democratic standards with a coup constitution.

As Kemal Kilicdaroglu was elected the chairman of Republican People's Party (CHP) with votes of all the delegates, he promised to make CHP "people's party" again. Kilicdaroglu has taken over Ecevit's cap and his "populist" slogan.
"MARATHON TO BECOME RULING PARTY"
Kilicdaroglu listed a series of commitments during his manifesto-like speech and promised members to make CHP the ruling party.
Noting that his party would prepare a law on political ethics, Kilicdaroglu said the 10 percent electoral threshold would be reduced.
He also said obstacles before industrialists would be lifted, policies of separation would be reversed and a new constitution compatible with Western standards would be prepared.
"TELL ME YOUR FORMULA AND SOURCE"
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized Kemal Kilicdaroglu without mentioning his name at the 65th general assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
"Some say they will end poverty. Please tell me how you will do that. What is your formula and source? Have you ever knocked the door of a poor person?," Erdogan said.
KILICDAROGLU: WE ARE RUNNING TOWARDS POWER
Kemal Kilicdaroglu brought CHP together in the 33rd regular convention. Kilicdaroglu, who was shown as the only candidate with the votes of 1,246 of the 1,249 delegates, got all of the 1,189 valid votes at Republican People's Party's (CHP) congress.
In his first address after being elected as CHP leader, Kilicdaroglu said, "I am aware of the responsibility I have undertaken. I will sit at the chair of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Ismet Inonu, Bulent Ecevit and Deniz Baykal. We will spread the political studies to whole of the country."
Contents of the address of Kilicdaroglu in the convention was like "program of ruling".
Kilicdaroglu made emphasis on corruption, poverty and unemployment, but did not talk about "secularism".
RAHSAN ECEVIT: I HAVE ALSO BROUGHT BULENT HERE
Rahsan Ecevit, who was announced as "honorary guest" in the convention, was welcomed by great enthusiasm.
Referring to the importance of the convention, Rahsan Ecevit said, "I have also brought Bulent Ecevit here. Bulent would also be here if he was alive".
RESPONSE FROM ERDOGAN TO KILICDAROGLU
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan targeted CHP leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu in his address in TOBB.
Erdogan said, "only assessing the problems and complaining about them is not an ability. You have opposed to every kind of social assistance, and now you are speaking as if you support poor people."
Erdogan said Turkey has overcome the global crisis successfully.
KILICDAROGLU: WE WILL WORK TOO MUCH
Kemal Kilicdaroglu, who was elected among the slogans "Prime Minister Kemal", said, "we have started the long walk. We will work too much. We will continue the changes and revolution till to the end".
Kilicdaroglu became the leader of Republican People's Party (CHP) with the votes of almost all the delegates.
Kilicdaroglu brought themes unemployment and poverty and made emphasis on change and revolution. "No passage to fascism" Kilicdaroglu said, noting that he would work much for the targets of the party.
ERDOGAN: "ZONGULDAK EXAGGERATED, AS IF ACCIDENT OCCURS FOR THE FIRST TIME"

Commenting on political immunities, Kilicdaroglu said, "They cannot go to referendum for the immunity issue. Because, Mr. Recep has a fear of jurisdiction. We promise you, we will lift political immunities during the ruling of CHP".
Kilicdaroglu also said that CHP would drag down the 10 percent electoral threshold when it became the party in power.

Kemal Kilicdaroglu was elected as the chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) by getting 1,189 votes of all the delegates and a new era has started in CHP.
In his 70-minute address in the general assembly, Kilicdaroglu said, "CHP supports change and revolution" and added, "we will re-build democracy in Turkey. We will not make belief and ethnic policy. Miracle of Mr. Recep has not come true because he does not know economy".
Deniz Baykal watched the general assembly from his home and called Kilicdaroglu on the phone to congratulate after the results are announced.
ERDOGAN: "WE CAN NOT BURY OUR HEADS IN THE SOIL"
Addressing the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Erdogan said, "it is clear what this country has lost in dealing with the Southeast problem".
Erdogan said, "we can not bury our heads in the soil by saying 'insolubility is a solution'.
