INCREASE SAFETY OF THE RUSSIAN
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov called Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu regarding the traffic accident which killed 13 Russian tourists in the southern province of Antalya. Lavrov asked Turkey to increase safety measures for Russian citizens.

SAME DRAMA ON TWO SIDES OF ISLAND
The tragedy of brothers of two first ladies marked the negotiations launched between Dervis Eroglu, the new president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias. Hasan Yilmaz Ahmet, the elder brother of Dervis Eroglu's wife Meral Eroglu, was abducted by EOKA in 1963. His bones were found 46 years after the kidnapping. Neofitos Hiratos, the brother of Demetris Christofias's wife Elsie Christofias, went missing during the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation. Hiratos is still missing.

CUP GOES TO HIM
Konyaspor, who qualified for the Turkcell Super League, will take the championship cup to Blanimir Poljac of Norway, whose soccer life ended as he was paralyzed in a traffic accident in Konya.

ETHNICAL IDENTITY IS AN HONOUR
In an interview with Milliyet daily, Republican People's Party (CHP) chairperson Kemal Kilicdaroglu replied to remarks that criticized him for not using the expression of "Kurdish" during his speech at CHP's recent congress. He also laid down his opinion regarding the army.
"We are against coups. Those who staged May 27 feel ashamed now. However, we are concerned about the understanding of civilian dictatorship at moment. Nevertheless, expenses of soldiers should be transparent as well. Jurisdiction should be given a civilian structure," Kilicdaroglu said.
"I did not use the word Kurdish, because I did not use the words Turkish or Circassian either. Ethnical identities and faiths should not be at the center of politics. Nobody should be alienated," Kilicdaroglu also said.

I AM NOT IN DEFENSE
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan talked to reporters on the plane as he was heading for Brazil, the first stop of his visit to Latin America. Upon a question on CHP chairperson Kilicdaroglu's criticisms, Erdogan said, "The prime minister does not feel the urge to reply to anyone. I am not in defense. At the moment, I am minding my own business. We are not fooling around, we are doing business".

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who inaugurated Turkey's Consulate General in Brazil underscored the importance of the step they had jointly made with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva pertaining to uranium swap deal signed with Iran, and noted, "all the world speaks about this."

PKK FIRED THAT BULLET
Prosecutor's office concluded the investigation launched about Aydin Erdem (23) who was killed on December 6 in southeastern province of Diyarbakir during a protest in favor of Ocalan. The office sent the file to Specially Authorized Prosecutor for crimes of terrorism.
Following the testimony of a secret witness, tip offs and video tapes, the prosector said, "Aydin Erdem was killed for provocative purposes within the scope of acts of terrorist PKK organization".

EFES-2010 MILITARY EXERCISE
Turkish made unmanned aircraft were promoted during the Efes 2010 military exercise. Chief of General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug said, "actual mission of Turkish Armed Forces is to preserve peace without firing any bullet."

SOLDIERS' "WATCHMAN"
During the Efes 2010 exercise in the Aegean, the unmanned aircraft of the Turkish Armed Forces, "Gozcu" (Watchman), was introduced. The aircraft is used for reconnaissance, observation and intelligence acquisition during day and night.

WE MISS ANOTHER GIANT INVESTMENT
Turkey and Poland were competing for almost 1 Euro investment French PSA (Peugeot-Citroen) Group would make. Turkey promised to allocate plot in Bursa or Tekirdag free of charge, and provided significant incentives for the giant French automotive firm. However, Peugeot made a surprise and decided to make the investment in Spain. This was Turkey's third disappointment in four years. Hyundai preferred the Czech Republic for its 1.2 million Euro project, and Ford decided to make its 675 million Euro investment in Romania.

YACHT ANGER
Deniz Baykal, an MP from the Republican People's Party (CHP) who resigned as the CHP leader on May 10, returned to parliament on Wednesday as an MP from Antalya. He reacted to news stories that he bought a yacht for 340,000 USD. Baykal said, "I have not even dreamed of something like that, it is insane. I will file a lawsuit."

WARNING FROM WORKERS
Labor confederation KESK staged a full-day strike, while members of other confederations Turk-Is, Disk and Kamu-Sen stopped working for an hour yesterday. Workers, who staged a country-wide strike in order to draw attention to the problems in work life, protested Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who defined the disasters in coal mines as "destiny".

Republican People's Party (CHP) chairperson Kemal Kilicdaroglu said that there was a significant flow of new members to his party. Addressing CHP's provincial officials, Kilicdaroglu said, "Open your doors. Like a poet once said, there is a flow to the sun and the sun will be invaded soon".

The crisis that shook the world triggered "extreme poverty" that abated in Turkey in 2000's.
Unemployment problem which got deepened in Turkey with the crisis that shook the world has three main consequences: increase in number of extremely poor people, poverty, and decrease in number of middle class.
Social cost of this is very high: rupture of family relations, isolation of the individuals and spread of violence.

THOSE WHO MADE MAY 27 ARE ASHAMED TODAY
New leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu criticized military coups on the 50th anniversary of 1960 coup.
"The military coups always took place when CHP was very close to the power but CHP was kept responsible. Those who made the military coup on May 27 are ashamed today. Military coup can never be defended," Kilicdaroglu said.

     The crisis hit Europe. Italy, Britain and Germany cut public expenses by 50 billion Euros. Turkey, on the other hand, has taken strong steps towards growth. Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said that Turkish economy would grow 6.8 percent.
    
     WE TRUSTED TURKS, ROAD TO PEACE OPENED
     Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmedinejad reacted harshly upon the West's embargo threat. "We have trusted Turkey and signed the uranium swap protocol. There are no more excuses for sanctions. If a game is played against us, the road to compromise will be closed down," Ahmedinejad said.

     HERE ARE DOCUMENTS OF SHAME REGARDING MAY 27
     Documents of Yassiada hearings, full of insults, were brought to daylight for the first time 50 years later. All the case was videoed and voice recorded, and photographed to be presented to Cemal Gursel, the fourth president who took over the power after the military intervention of 1960. A part of video footage of those days was screened in cinemas for propaganda, however this implementation was stopped due to reactions of the nation.      Muslim, Christian and Jewish activists who said "our route is Palestine, our load is humanitarian aid", convened in southern resort city of Antalya. Relief volunteers formed "Gaza Friendship" against Israeli cruelty which the whole world watches.
     The activists who came from all over the world are expected to sail towards Gaza on Thursday evening.
    
     TRACES OF MAY 27 ARE BEING ERASED
     Accounts are settled with May 27, the first military coup of the Republic of Turkey, after 50 years.
     As ban on Kurdish is removed, institutions like Constitutional Court and the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK), which are products of military coup, are being integrated to the system.
