Turkish dailies on Wednesday cover Russia's decision to withdraw its troops back from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea; Russian troops' warning shots at Ukrainian soldiers, and its long-range missile test. They also cover Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan's statements during his public address in a local election rally.

A number of dailies, such as Hurriyet, Haber Turk, Aksam, Yeni Safak, Sabah and Star covered Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to withdraw troops back from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Also covered was Russian troops' warning shots at Ukrainian soldiers, and its long-range missile test.

Daily Hurriyet headlines "Unwilling retreat" reporting Putin's move to withdraw Russian soldiers in a bid to de-escalate tension after Russia lost US$72 billion in the stock exchange on Monday. The daily also reports on the sanctions threat from the U.S. Daily Star headlines "First shot in Crimea" while reporting on the tension which peaked on Tuesday in Crimea.

Haber Turk headlines "First shot, and retreat" regarding Putin's withdrawal from Ukraine and his citing that there is no need for military intervention in Ukraine for now. The daily says Putin ended the military exercise with the withdrawal of Russia's 150,000 soldiers from Crimea, adding, "Local communities' demands are necessary for intervention."

Aksam headlines "Military action is on the table", citing Moscow's long-range test firing of missiles which hit its target in Kazakhstan.

The daily also reported that Erdogan on Tuesday dared the U.S.-based Islamic preacher, Fethullah Gulen to return to Turkey and form a political party in a local election rally in the southern province of Adiyaman where he also criticized Gulen and opposition parties.
