Monday's newspapers dedicated their front pages to the martyrdom of four security force personnel by the terrorist organization PKK during counter-terrorism operations in Nusaybin, a town on the Syrian border in Mardin province.

“Sad day in Nusaybin” was AKSAM’s headline on the front, which also carried a photograph of a letter written by police officer Coskun Nazilli to his children. The paper reported that a colleague of Nazilli’s was killed by the PKK seven months ago.

The SABAH newspaper used the headline “4 martyrs in Nusaybin” to report that the officers were killed by an improvised explosive device planted by PKK terrorists that exploded during a house search.

It reports that 25 terrorists were killed by security forces in operations across the southeast over the weekend, including 13 in Nusaybin.

Sunday’s terrorist attack in Lahore, Pakistan, received widespread coverage.

“Massacre in children's park” HABERTURK said, reporting that families and children celebrating Easter Sunday were targeted.

The daily said the attack had been claimed by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban.

MILLIYET said three days of national mourning had been declared in Pakistan and reported Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s condemnation of the attack. “Turkey will continue to be in solidarity with brotherly Pakistan as it always has been,” he said.

The president’s visit to Washington was covered by most of the dailies. HURRIYET said he would attend a nuclear security summit and seek investments from U.S. companies.
