Turkish dailies covered statements of the Turkish prime minister in Gelibolu (Gallipoli), peace messages at Newroz celebrations and the capture of New Yorker Sierra's suspected murderer.

The Anadolu Agency does not verify these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.

All of the Turkish dailies covered the statements of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday where he travelled to the northwestern province of Canakkale to attend the ceremonies to be held to mark the 98th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Gelibolu (Gallipoli). "We will solve it with the Gelibolu spirit" headlined daily YENI SAFAK, "If our people is with us we will solve the terror issue" headlined daily ZAMAN, "We will succeed altogether" headlined daily SABAH and "We expect support from the land of martyrs" headlined daily HURRIYET referring to Erdogan's statements that positive developments had been happening recently regarding the resolution of the long-standing Kurdish issue. "The opposition can leave us alone if they wish to do so. As long as our people are with us we will solve this problem. There are good developments and we will not allow the sacrifice of our martyrs to be wasted," said Erdogan according to the dailies.

Turkish dailies also covered the beginning of Newroz celebrations in several provinces around Turkey. "Newroz fire lit up early" headlined daily MILLIYET marking the beginning of Newroz, a spring festival highly important to Kurds, in 17 provinces of Turkey. "Peace vow at squares" headlined daily SABAH referring to the address of Peace and Democracy (BDP) lawmakers where Selahattin Demirtas said, "All parties united for peace" and Sirri Sakik said, "Let's bury weapons to the dump of history."

Dailies also covered the capture of Sarai Sierra's murder suspect Ziya T., also known as "Laz Ziya" in the Turkish border town of Reyhanli of the southern Hatay province. "National Intelligence Service found Laz Ziya" headlined daily MILLIYET over the capture of Sierra's murder suspect. "I realized it the next day" headlined daily SABAH where Laz Ziya stated that he used drugs and added, "When we met at the city walls I hit her with a stick. The next day I realized that I committed murder and then I carried her to the cloister." Sierra, who left US on January 7 to take pictures in Istanbul, went missing in the city on January 21 and her dead body was found on February 2.
