Turkish dailies on Monday covered the Diyarbakir Police Chief Recep Guven's statement about PKK terrorists and Turkish hitting back at Syria. The Anadolu Agency does not verify these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.
All Turkish dailies covered Police Chief of Diyarbakir, Recep Guven's statement regarding the terrorism issues in Turkey. Daily HURRIYET stated that he had served in Diyarbakir between 1991 and 1996 as an officer and 16 years after his duty, he was appointed as the Diyarbakir Police Chief. Daily ZAMAN quoted Guven as saying in a conference in 2005 which was, "If a guy goes up to mountain to fight, we are all responsible from it. If you are not touched by a person dying up in the mountain, then you are not a human being." And now, Guven was quoted as saying, "But if you cannot prevent a terrorist from killing innocent people, you are not a state," daily ZAMAN published.
Another topic which was covered by Turkish dailies was the another Syrian artillery attack on Syrian border town of Akcakale. The attack caused no death nor injury however Turkish security forces responded immediately to all shellfire coming from Syria.
