A new statistic released by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has revealed that almost 2,000 people have been killed by the use of notorious barrel bombs in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo since the beginning of 2014.
Since January 2014, the SOHR claims that precisely 1,963 people have been killed in Syria's second largest city after the capital Damascus.
The death toll, which includes 283 women and 567 children, results from almost daily air raids by the Syrian regime on the largely rebel-held city.
