Afghanistan security forces killed 31 ISIL extremists, Afghan Defense Ministry said Sunday.
The armed extremists were discovered and killed in the Nangarhar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Takhar and Helmand provinces by the Afghan army, police and security forces joint offensive operation, the ministry said.
Eight Taliban militants were also killed during the operations.
The statement added that two security forces were martyred in the last 24 hours.
