Turkey's Embassy in Amman, Jordan has held charity reception for Syrian shelter seekers.      

The reception which was held in association with Yunus Emre Culture Centre in Jordanian capital Amman on Sunday hosted US Ambassador to Jordan Stuart Jones and Russian Ambassador to Jordan Alexander Kalugin as well as several other diplomats and guests.      

Traditional Turkish food were offered while dance shows and music performances took place during the event.      

Speaking at the opening of the event, Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Sedat Onal stated that money raised throughout the night would be used for Syrians who took shelter in Jordan after they fled the violence in their country.      

Replying the questions of Anadolu Agency, Onal reminded that Turkey and Jordan were two countries who hosted most of the Syrian shelter seekers and added, "As Turkey, we underscore our support that we give to our Syrian brothers and sisters and wish their pain would end soon."      

According to reports of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) 515 thousand Syrians take shelter in Jordan.
