Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi held a series of conversations with his counterparts from the UN Security Council member-states to discuss the situation in Egypt.
Fahmi spoke with the foreign ministers of the United States, Russia, China, France and Denmark along with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. He also spoke to Saudi and Moroccan counterparts.
Fahmi's communications focused on "explaining the real situation in Egypt" in the light of "criminal acts targeting churches, worship places and public facilities, which aim to terrorize citizens", the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
The top diplomat told his counterparts that "these acts are being confronted by authorities in the framework of law and self-restraint", the statement added.
According to the Foreign Ministry statement, Fahmi urged world countries to seek "accuracy based on the real situation on the ground, not on misinformation".Güncelleme Tarihi: 17 Ağustos 2013, 17:00
