Egypt released a Palestinian Hamas official detained for three days at Cairo airport and transported him to neighbouring Gaza on Thursday, security officials said.
Hassan al-Saifi, whose name was on an Egyptian watch list, was detained on arrival on Monday.
Egypt, under junta President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, has had strained relations with the Palestinian movement Hamas that controls the Gaza Strip.
Hamas is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood movement of Egypt's former president Mohamed Morsi, whom Sisi overthrew in 2013 when he was army chief.
An Egyptian court had blacklisted Hamas as a terrorist organisation, but the ruling was overturned on appeal earlier this year.Güncelleme Tarihi: 20 Ağustos 2015, 16:42
