In a Friday statement on its Facebook page, the Ultras Ahlawy urged members to demonstrate outside the High Court of Justice in central Cairo to demand the release of 25 group members arrested during clashes with security forces in mid-October outside Cairo International Airport.
At least 19 people were injured last month when police moved in to disperse about 600 Ultras Ahlawy members who tried to enter the airport's arrival hall to greet Egypt's national handball team as it returned from Morocco after losing the African Cup final to Tunisia's Esperance.
"The protest has one objective: release of the innocent," the group declared in its statement.
