Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri arrived Sunday in Cairo on an official visit, during which he would meet with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, diplomatic sources said.
Hariri, accompanied by a delegation from his Future Movement, was welcomed at Cairo Airport by Lebanese ambassador Khaled Ziyada among other diplomats.
The former premier is also expected to meet with Al-Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayyeb, the country's top Sunni cleric, according to the sources.
Sources close to Hariri had told The Anadolu Agency earlier that the talks would touch on the situation in Lebanon where differences between the Future Movement and Hezbollah hinder the election of a news president for the country.
Lebanon's presidency has remained vacant since former President Michel Suleiman's six-year term expired in May of last year.Güncelleme Tarihi: 08 Mart 2015, 10:02
