At least 24 dead, 46 others injured after bomb attacks hit government-held areas in Hasakah, Homs, Damascus and Tartous, a Syria based monitor group said on Monday.

Two explosions occurred at the al-Arzuneh bridge south-east of the coastal city of Tartus, Syria, according to the report. The bridge is being used as an entrance to the Syrian port city that houses a Russian naval base.

Images shows heavy fire and smoke after an explosion in Tartus. The first explosion did not cause any casualties; however, the second explosion, caused by a suicide bomber, attacked a crowd that gathered after the first explosion, local media reported. No information was received yet on casualties in the Tartus bombing.

In the other incidents, at least 4 people were killed and 7 others were wounded in a car bomb blast near the Zahraa neighborhood in Homs, and 3 people were killed in al-Saburah, Damascus.
