Houthi group and local tribesmen have agreed to a ceasefire in Yemen's northern Al-Jawf province, a government source said Thursday.
A government mediation panel managed to hammer out a ceasefire between members of the local Dahm tribe and the Houthis, the source said.
Under the agreement, the two sides are expected to remove roadblocks and hand over their respective sites to army forces, according to the source.
The northern province has recently witnessed several rounds of fighting between Houthi group and tribesmen that have left dozens dead.
Members of the Dahm tribe accuse the group of seeking to establish control over their traditional territories on the Yemen-Saudi border.Güncelleme Tarihi: 09 Ocak 2014, 15:01
