Shiite Houthi militants and local tribesmen have signed a ceasefire to end weeks of fighting in Yemen's northern Al-Jawf province, a government source said.
A government mediation panel managed to hammer out a ceasefire between members of the local Dahm tribe and the Houthis.
Under the deal, the two sides would remove roadblocks and hand over their respective sites to army forces.
The ceasefire agreement comes into force as of Tuesday.
The northern province has recently witnessed several rounds of fighting between Houthi militants and tribesmen, leaving dozens dead.
Members of the Dahm tribe accuse the Shiite group of seeking to establish control over their traditional territories on the Yemen-Saudi border.Güncelleme Tarihi: 14 Ocak 2014, 10:14
