Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamed Javad Zarif arrived in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday for his fourth visit to the Gulf within one week.
Zarif's visit came at the invitation of his UAE counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported. It also follows a regional tour that took Zarif to Qatar, Kuwait and Oman earlier this week.
The UAE's top diplomat, for his part, visited Tehran last week where he held talks with President Hassan Rouhani.
During his one-day stay in Abu Dhabi, Zarif is slated to meet with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah.
During his recent Gulf tour, Zarif repeatedly reassured his hosts regarding his country's recent nuclear deal with the West.
Iran and six world powers – the US, Britain, Russia, France, China and Germany – recently penned a deal freezing Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for the partial lifting of Western sanctions on the Islamic republic.Güncelleme Tarihi: 04 Aralık 2013, 11:47
