Israeli Minister of International Affairs, Strategy and Intelligence Yuval Steinitz said on Thursday regarding the chemical attack in Syria that Israeli intelligence believed Assad's army had used chemical weapons in the Wednesday attack on the East Ghouta suburbs of the Syrian capital of Damascus.
Speaking to Israeli Radio, Steinitz noted that Assad used chemical weapons in yesterday's attack and it was not the first instance, adding that the world is faced with a "brutal" regime in Syria.
Steinitz argued that no concrete steps had been taken to stop the massacre committed by the Assad regime against its own civilians, characterizing the condemnations from around the world of the Assad regime's war crimes as “hypocrisy.”
Casting the investigation which the United Nations has started into Syria as a “comedy”, Steinitz stated, “The UN is not investigating yesterday's incidents, but those which took place 6 months ago."
"Meanwhile the investigation into whether chemical weapons were used, without investigating into who used them, is an outright disgrace,” he added.Güncelleme Tarihi: 22 Ağustos 2013, 13:13
