Israel has sealed off the Quneitra Crossing at its Syrian border and ceased all crossings due to clashes between Syrian regime forces and opposition forces, according to Israel Radio.
The Israeli authorities earlier announced an increase in its military presence in the area after Al-Nusra Front captured the Syrian side of the crossing, which is near the long-disputed area under Israeli occupation, Golan Heights.
Israel and Syria have repeatedly had showdowns over Golan Heights, which has been mostly occupied by Israel since the Six-Day Wars.
Syria has been gripped by almost constant fighting since the regime launched a violent crackdown in response to anti-government protests in March 2011, triggering a conflict, which has spiraled into a civil war.Last Mod: 11 Mayıs 2014, 16:51
