World Bulletin / News Desk

A Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli forces during a raid on a Palestinian town in Jerusalem on Tuesday night.

The Israeli military said soldiers opened fire when a vehicle accelerated towards them during an operation to confiscate weapons manufacturing machinery in the town of al-Ram.

They said one person was detained and another taken to hospital, while the Palestinian health ministry confirmed a Palestinian was killed. Palestinian news agency Ma'an identified him as 22-year-old Anwar al-Salaymeh.

On Monday, the Israel military said in a statement that it had arrested four people, including two members of Palestinian intelligence services, for allegedly manufacturing improvised weapons.

More than 200 Palestinians have been killed since October in alleged or attempted stabbings, car-ramming attacks or in clashes with Israeli forces while 34 Israelis have been killed in such attacks during the same period.
