Jordan's King Abdullah II on Monday met in Amman with former Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) secretary-general Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, according to a statement by the Royal Hashemite Court.
It said that, at the meeting, King Abdullah had lauded efforts made by Ihsanoglu during the latter's tenure as OIC head, which ended last year.
"The king underlined the importance of building on the achievements reached so far with the aim of shedding light on the tolerant nature of the Islamic religion," the court statement read.
It added that Ihsanoglu, for his part, had lauded King Abdullah's efforts in international forums to convey Islam's tolerant message and build bridges of understanding with the adherents of other religions.Last Mod: 21 Nisan 2014, 17:33
