Jordanian King Abdullah II arrived in Egypt Wednesday for a short official visit, according to a source at Cairo International Airport.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi received the king at the airport, the source, who preferred not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to media, told Anadolu Agency.
According to local media reports, the visit -- expected to last only hours -- will include talks with Egyptian officials regarding efforts to revive the stalled Middle East peace process and an upcoming Arab Islamic American Summit to be held in Riyadh.
The Riyadh summit will coincide with U.S. President Donald Trump’s planned visit to the Middle East this weekend, which will include significant stops in both Saudi Arabia and Israel.
Wednesday’s visit by the Jordanian king is his second to Egypt this year. He also visited Cairo in February, where he spoke with Egyptian officials about bilateral ties and the perennial Israel-Palestine issue.Güncelleme Tarihi: 17 Mayıs 2017, 16:41
